Meet Our Team
Bernadette Sweeney, LSW
Mental Health Counselor (South Elgin office or telehealth)
I'm a licensed social worker with a diverse background spanning hospital, psychiatry, and therapy settings. My passion lies in working with adolescents, teenagers, individuals, couples, and families, guiding them through life's challenges and transitions.
I earned my Masters of Social Work from Aurora University and have since dedicated myself to ensuring my clients feel supported, validated, and empowered throughout our journey together. Drawing from a blend of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Strength-Based Therapy, I tailor my approach to address a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma/abuse, ADHD, Bipolar disorder, gender identity, relationship issues, and personal transitions.
I deeply value the trust established in each session and approach therapy with optimism and compassion. My goal is not only to help you achieve your immediate objectives but also to empower you with the tools to cultivate lasting change and resilience in your life. Together, we'll identify and refine healthy habits that promote continuous growth and success, recognizing the profound impact that small, consistent actions can have on our mental well-being and overall life satisfaction.
I believe in the transformative power of therapy and look forward to supporting you on your journey towards healing and personal fulfillment.
